there exists a star

Admitting that he liked to watch the stars would have probably knocked off any and all man points he had gotten in his lifetime of being number one badass, so Noah Puckerman tended to keep that little secret to himself. Occasionally, when the night was clear enough, he would drive Hannah up to the small hill near their house and spread out a blanket, pointing out each of the constellations to her. He had his favorites, the Little Dipper, because Hannah liked it so much, and Orion’s Belt, because 3 was his favorite number. There was another star, one that wasn’t really part of any constellation, which he liked best, though. It was a little ways off from a cluster of ten or eleven stars (he was never really sure about the number), but it shone brighter than all of them put together. Admittedly, it was kind of small, but it was bright, and it reminded him of someone he knew, someone else he secretly admired for their ability to shine despite not really belonging.

Just like the star, she wouldn’t give him the time of day, unless she needed to use him for making Finn jealous. Although he was slightly flattered that she would pick him, it really wasn’t a shock. He was a stud, and they used to have a thing, plus he was Finn’s best friend, all of which added up to a jealous Finn. At least it did in Rachel’s mind. Puck didn’t really like making out with her because it made Finn jealous. He enjoyed it because it gave him an excuse to make out with her, and she had to notice him. She reminded him of the star because she didn’t really fit in. Sure, she had friends within the Glee club, but she was always…different, mostly because she was the only one out of all of them who knew that they were getting out of Ohio. She had a dream, and she was going to get it. Puck just wished she could get her dream with him there with her. He liked her, a lot, so he would take those secret make-out sessions and those moments she spent in his bedroom practicing the duet she wanted, because even though it was for another boy, he could always pretend it was for him.
